Providing state-of-the-art neurotherapy & advancing research

Neurotherapy at the Sanger Research Institute is available for both adults and children.

Neurorehabilitation for ADD and ADHD

What can neurotherapy help?

Neurotherapy can help both adults and children with psychological symptoms related to attention deficit disorder (ADD) or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It can help rehabilitate concussions. It can also reduce symptoms related to post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and can help reduce stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia.

What about sports performance and concentration?

Studies have shown that neurotherapy can enhance performance and concentration by improving focus, calming nerves and reducing stress. For those seeking to perform at a higher level in sports or with studies and testing, neuro-cognitive training offers unique advantages.

What about concussions?

A concussion can have lasting effects, such as headaches, sleeplessness, learning difficulties and behavioral changes. At Sanger Research we offer comprehensive evaluation and neurorehabilitation to aid both children and adults in recovery.

For those at risk of a head injury from sports, a pre-concussion evaluation is able capture a baseline, which can be referenced later, to aid in recovery in the event of a concussion.

How effective is it?

Multiple studies have shown that neurotherapy is just as effective for ADHD as treatment with medication. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the beneficial effects of neurotherapy is often long-lasting.

Studies have shown that after just one course of neurotherapy, half the children treated still had no ADHD symptoms two-years later. In contrast, the effects of treatment with medication cease when the medication is stopped.

How does it work?

Neurotherapy uses small sensors to detect brainwave patterns. A therapist analyzes these patterns in real-time and determines which are causing issues.

Then, feedback about the brainwaves at issue is provided visually, through the appearance of images on a screen. This helps the conscious mind to become aware of what is happening subconsciously.

How long does it take?

Often just one course of neurotherapy is sufficient to alleviate psychological symptoms.

The first session generally takes about an hour and a half, thereafter sessions usually take about an hour or less.

How affordable is it?

A package is only $1,750 and includes an evaluation, analysis and five sessions.

Insurance is not accepted at this time.

Baseline evaluations for sports teams and individual athletes

To aid in diagnosis and recovery in the event of a concussion, Sanger Research offers baseline evaluation of sports teams and individual athletes.

For those at risk of a head injury from sports, a pre-concussion evaluation is able to capture a baseline. Then, in the event of a suspected concussion, an athlete's post-injury evaluation can be compared to their baseline.

In the event a concussion is diagnosed, the baseline can both aid and accelerate recovery through neurotherapy and can also allow a more accurate evaluation of when an athlete has returned to normal.

How long has this treatment existed?

The study of how brain-activity affects behavior began in the early-1960's. The study of brain-activity in children with ADHD began the mid-1970s.

Today, more than 1500 published peer-reviewed journal articles document the effectiveness of treating psychological symptoms with neurofeedback.
